SOLIDWORKS Visualize

Inline Rendering

SOLIDWORKS ® Visualize supports and defaults to Live rendering mode. This can improve

performance and reduce memory consumption for final renders.

Instancing

SOLIDWORKS Visualize can handle duplicated geometry, such as patterned components

from SOLIDWORKS assemblies, more efficiently.

Typically, for larger SOLIDWORKS assemblies, the use of duplicated geometry requires

less GPU memory and reduces the likelihood of running out of GPU memory.

Appearance part-grouping mode does not support this functionality.

MDL Support

SOLIDWORKS Visualize supports full editing capabilities of NVIDIA ® Material Definition

Language (MDL) materials.

You can modulate textures and edit color fields and parameters.

Also, these materials are supported in Preview mode.

Using MDL Materials

The NVIDIA vMaterials catalog provides access to a collection of MDL materials.

Before you begin, download and install the vMaterials catalog from the NVIDIA website:

1. Go to the NVIDIA VMATERIALS web page.

2. Click DOWNLOAD and follow the instructions.

To use MDL materials:

1. In SOLIDWORKS Visualize, open a new or existing project.
