Importing 2D DXF or DWG Files as Reference

Sketches

You can import 2D DXF or DWG files as reference sketches.

To import 2D DXF or DWG files as reference sketches:

1. Click Open (Standard toolbar) or File > Open.

2. In the Open dialog box, set File of type to Autodesk AutoCAD Files (*.dwg;

*.dxf), browse to the file, and click Open.

3. In the DXF/DWG Import dialog box, under Import to a new part as, select 2D

sketch and Import as reference.

4. Click Finish.

The software imports the DXF or DWG file as a reference sketch.

You cannot edit a reference sketch. In the FeatureManager ® design tree, right-click

the reference sketch and click Make Edit Sketch. The software converts the

reference sketch to a regular sketch and you can edit it.
