Convert to Sheet Metal
With the Convert to Sheet Metal tool:
• There are improved flat pattern results.
• For sheet metal parts created in SOLIDWORKS ® 2020 and later, you can:
• Convert multiple disjoint tabs that share a common bend face.
• Use relief cuts that:
• Use improved logic to determine where to include relief cuts.
• Behave similarly to relief cuts created with the Edge Flange tool.
• Reflect the selected auto relief, type, and gap values more accurately.
Tab and Slot
When creating a Tab and Slot feature in a sheet metal part, you can set negative values.
In the Tab and Slot PropertyManager, under Slot, click Slot Length Offset or Slot
Width Offset to set the values as negative. This does not create a negative offset in
cases of a single body tab and slot or if the resulting tab and slot bodies are merged.
