The new material is added under the Plastics Database
When new material grades become available, the material suppliers upload the data in
3D ContentCentral. New materials uploaded to 3D ContentCentral by material suppliers
are included in subsequent service packs or future major releases of SOLIDWORKS Plastics.
Plastics Tutorials
Seven tutorials covering a range of SOLIDWORKS Plastics workflows are available.
To access the tutorials:
From the SOLIDWORKS Plastics CommandManager, click Settings and Help > Tutorials.
Study Creation and Management
You can create a new Plastics study based on the current SOLIDWORKS configuration.
Study management features for editing, deleting, and clearing a study are available.
In the SOLIDWORKS Plastics CommandManager, click New Study.
In the Study PropertyManager, type a name for the study, set the appropriate Injection
Process parameters, and select a Solid or Shell mesh for the Analysis Procedure.
The new study is based on the active SOLIDWORKS configuration.
After creating a new study, right-click the top study node in the PlasticsManager tree to
access the study management features.
Edit Study
Edits the study parameters.
Delete Study
Deletes the study.
Clear Study
Resets the study to its default state. Deletes all boundary
conditions, mesh, materials, process parameters, and results
associated with the active configuration.
Virtual Mold Design
You can define the position of a virtual mold relative to the cavity with a bounding box
or by setting global coordinates.
To open the Virtual Mold PropertyManager:
• In the PlasticsManager, right-click Domains , and click Virtual Mold Design.
