Plastics Material Databases in 3D ContentCentral
SOLIDWORKS partnered with the world’s largest plastics material suppliers to provide
access to the most up-to-date and accurate plastics material databases.
To access the plastics material databases in 3D ContentCentral:
1. Go to http://www.3dcontentcentral.com/.
2. Click FIND > INJECTION MOLDING MATERIALS.
The complete catalog of plastics materials appears with information about the material
supplier, material family, tradename, grade, and a short description (if available).
To download an individual material grade, click Download Plastics Material Data. Unzip
the compressed binary file .bin to a local folder.
To add a material file from 3D ContentCentral to the SOLIDWORKS Plastics
User-defined database:
1. In the PlasticsManager, under Material, right-click Polymer and click Open
Database.
2. In the dialog box, click User-defined Database.
3. Click Import Plastic Material > File.
4. Browse to the location of the unzipped material data file and select it.
