Streamlined Mesh Creation
The Mesh PropertyManager is redesigned to simplify the mesh creation workflow.
The number of steps in the mesh creation workflow is reduced.
To access the Mesh PropertyManager, right-click Solid Mesh, or Shell Mesh.
To create a solid mesh with the automatic mesh process, click OK in the Mesh
PropertyManager.
Follow a manual mesh creation workflow to specify the mesh type (Tetrahedral Hybrid
or Hexahedral), mesh size, and curvature controls.
Flow, Pack, and Cool Analyses Enhancements
Analyses solvers are improved.
• For the Shell and Solid mesh procedures, the Flow and Pack analyses account for
multipoint, variable specific heat (C), and thermal conductivity (k) material data.
Specific heat (C) and thermal conductivity (K) material properties can vary as a function
of temperature. You can now incorporate multi-point data provided by material suppliers
into analyses.
• Prediction of pressure decay is more accurate with improved pressure calculations in
the pure cooling phase.
• A new turbulence (k-ω) model calculates the flow of coolant in the cooling circuits.
Cool simulations are more accurate using the new model.
Geometry-Based Boundary Conditions
You can assign more boundary conditions directly on geometric entities than you previously
could.
The boundary conditions that you can apply on geometric entities are the following:
• Injection Location
• Control Valves
• Mold Wall Temperature
• Clamp Force
• Symmetry Face
• Insert Properties (previously, Insert Boundary)
• Air Vents
• Exclude from Warp (previously, Runner Element)
• Filled Hot Runner
• Coolant Input
Although the majority of the boundary conditions are geometry-based, the following
boundary conditions remain mesh-based:
• Warp Boundary
• Flow Injection Factor
