Proverbs 22:16
Oppressing the poor
for enrichment, giving
to the rich: both are
sheer loss.
Proverbs 31:8–9
Open your mouth in behalf of
the mute, and for the rights of
the destitute;
Open your mouth, judge justly,
defend the needy and the
poor!
Micah 6:8
You have been told, O mortal,
what is good,
and what the LORD requires of you:
Only to do justice and to love
goodness,
and to walk humbly with your God.
Reflect
It is better to help the needy out of obligation than not to help them. That said, why can
