A further lexical adverb is gal ‘actually’, which can be used to emphasize a<br />

contradiction or surprise, as in (7). The interjection nä ‘no’, a borrowing from<br />

Swedish, 3 is also used in this example, in addition to the native <strong>Saami</strong>c negation<br />

verb.<br />
