Start<strong>in</strong>g/Stopp<strong>in</strong>g of Dual Stack Systems<br />

• Dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> <strong>in</strong>stallation of an SAP system, you can add a Java stack to each ABAP <strong>in</strong>stance. The<br />

<strong>in</strong>stances are started and stopped us<strong>in</strong>g appropriate tools at operat<strong>in</strong>g system level - such as <strong>the</strong><br />

SAP Management Console (SAP MC). With<strong>in</strong> an <strong>in</strong>stance,<strong>the</strong> Java stack is controlled by <strong>the</strong><br />

ABAP dispatcher. In concrete terms, this means that <strong>the</strong> start and stop processes are triggered by<br />

<strong>the</strong> ABAP dispatcher. To do this,<strong>the</strong> ABAP dispatcher sends a start <strong>command</strong> to <strong>the</strong> so-called<br />

Startup and Control Framework. The correspond<strong>in</strong>g Java cluster elements are started us<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong><br />

Startup and Control Framework.<br />
