One Year
Serving You.
Dear Constituent of Lopinot/Bon Air West,
August 10, 2021, marks the one year anniversary of my
election as your servant Member of Parliament. You
have my deepest gratitude for entrusting me with
your vote and in keeping with my oath of office, I will
never breach that trust.
I began my journey with much hesitation, encouragement,
discouragement, prayers, and support. It was my
sole desire to serve, and I saw this as an opportunity to
carry out public service at a higher level. Still today, it
remains my paramount motivation
.
I was nominated and elected under difficult circumstances:
the COVID-19 pandemic that has touched
each of us in some way. Despite the fact that the
world continues to battle against this harrowing
disease a year later, we are grateful that science and
the grace of Almighty God have provided us with
vaccines that offer us a fighting chance.
Sadly, there have been a great number of deaths due
to COVID-19, and although many people have recovered,
hundreds are still being infected. Our economy
has been shaken to its very foundation. Thousands
have lost their jobs and their ability to provide for their
families. As we sought to protect ourselves through
emergency public health regulations, our schools have
been closed. Businesses the world over have shut
down resulting in tremendous global economic turmoil.
Many people today are trying to pick up the pieces of
their lives while others are still grieving the loss of
loved ones.
Certainly, no new Member of Parliament will wish
to enter public life under these tumultuous circumstances.
As a Government, we have made every
imaginable effort to keep our ship of state assail in such
tempestuous waters.
During my tenure as your Member of Parliament, I have
fought to represent your interests. While unable to
provide everything you've desired, I have tried my best
to fulfill my role in the most honest, sincere, and
compassionate way possible.
providing food support to families in need. Additionally
the team and I have made so many new friends while
working to enhance drainage infrastructure to alleviate
the incidence of flooding along with negotiating for
additional street lights and roads. As well, it has been a
pleasure to assist through our offering of social grants
and the vital support to our farming communities.
In return, your warmth and appreciation could not be
more genuine. It is your support that keeps me going
and ever more determined to continue to serve in this
challenging yet enriching vineyard. Thank you.
I also thank my family and friends for their continued
support and prayers. I look forward to another year of
achieving greater things for Lopinot /Bon Air West.
Buoyed by your continued encouragement along with
the guidance and protection of Almighty God, we will
continue to REBUILD, TRANSFORM and DELIVER a
Constituency in which we can forever be proud.
Despite the looming challenges, I have welcomed this
opportunity to help improve community life in beautiful
Lopinot / Bon Air West. Some highlights from the
memorable past few months include working to
improve water supply in the Constituency and
Sincerely,
