In December 1936 King Edward VIII of the United
Kingdom abdicated in order to marry the divorced
commoner Wallis Simpson of the United
States, making his younger brother Albert the
new monarch with the name of George VI of the
United Kingdom and his niece Elizabeth in
crown princess. Since then, young but determined,
she began to shape her image as a future
queen.

En diciembre de 1936 el rey Eduardo VIII del
Reino Unido abdicó para poder contraer matrimonio
con la divorciada plebeya Wallis Simpson
de Estados Unidos, convirtiendo a su hermano
menor Alberto en el nuevo monarca con el
nombre de Jorge VI del Reino Unido y a su sobrina
Isabel en princesa heredera. Desde entonces,
joven pero decidida, comenzó a configurar su
