The property was purchased by Midroc Ethiopia in 1999 and was built in 1987.
Today the hotel is managed by Dubai based Constellation Hospitality group
under the terms of a franchise agreement with Marriott International for the
Sheraton brand. With over 30 years of successful operations, the Sheraton
Djibouti continues to be the oldest and most iconic international hotel in the
country.

The property has hosted many international delegations and top VIPs
throughout its rich history, cementing it as the premier destination for
luxury hospitality in the country. The company also holds a concession
and operates land in Moucha island. Its proximity by boat to the island
makes Sheraton and an ideal destination for those spending the weekend
in Djibouti.
Over the years, the hotel has undergone extensive renovations to place it as
a hotel of choice for International travelers. Throughout its history of over
50 years, the hotel continues to welcome world leaders, celebrities, religious
