The College’s mission is to work actively as a Catholic, Christian,
inclusive learning community. Inspired by our Catholic tradition, we
strive for excellence imbued by the charisms of our Founders: St Mary
of the Cross MacKillop and Blessed Edmund Rice. As a community, we
embrace the future with confi dence in that our students will grow to
make a positive contribution to society.
The mantra for the academic year is “Commitment, Compassion,
Celebration”. Our students embrace a welcoming, open and supportive
demeanour as they interact in their world with justice, respect,
forgiveness and compassion. Through the action of Commitment,
Compassion, Celebration, we live the spirit of the college motto By
Effort and Faith.
Our students take pride in themselves, their learning and their school
environment. We continue to encourage our students to implement a
growth mind set in their learning. Our students achieve commendable
results in the academic and vocational pathways. Their commitment,
the teachers’ compassion and the interest of the parents are indicative
of the signifi cance of these partnerships in the learning and teaching
at Clairvaux MacKillop College.
The College subject offerings are extensive, including Enrichment
and Support classes for Science, Technology, Engineering and
Mathematics (STEM) as well as an extensive number of Year 12 QCE
subjects, 55 in total, which also includes a broad Vocational Education
program. All students in Years 7 - 12 are able to participate in our
Homework and Tuition Support program, called YAGA. This program
is supported by specialist teachers and school offi cers.
Complementing a strong academic focus is an extensive cocurricular
program where students can experience the positive
benefi ts to being involved in individual and team sports, the Arts
and social justice activities. Participation in College activities helps
to develop strong friendships, build spirit and promote the personal
growth of students.
