Baker Bednar Snyder & Associates, Inc. is an architecture, engineering, and interior
design firm located in Warren, Ohio.
We are a fully licensed, insured, and qualified design firm registered in 11 states
providing professional services to commercial, civic, healthcare, financial, educational,
and residential clients since 1977.

Our History
Baker Bednar Snyder & Associates, Inc. has developed due to a broad compliment
of education, experience, and talents. The foundation of the firm is built upon
our founder’s fifteen years of experience in construction, providing a thorough
understanding of materials, methods, and project costs. Coupled with a practical,
classic, yet innovative approach to design, our firm’s abilities generate a highly effective
and efficient approach to our projects.
Beginning as Randall P. Baker & Associates in 1977, the firm experienced positive
and steady growth. In 1989, with strengths in design and planning, Andrew R. Bednar
became a partner, changing the name of the firm to Baker, Bednar & Associates, Inc.
David D. Snyder, with his focus on effective production and a thorough understanding of
codes, was named a partner in the firm in 2004.
In 2001 interior design services were added to compliment the premium aesthetics
already being developed. And in 2016 with the addition of structural and civil
engineering, Baker Bednar Snyder & Associates, Inc. increased its offerings providing
enhanced, in-house technical expertise.
Our Qualifications
The BBS Team is comprised of skilled individuals who believe in strong client
relationships, dedicated and timely production, and high-energy performance. For
each project, members are selected based upon experience and talent. Our focus is
to always align our goal with that of our client. In short, we are an experienced team of
professionals that work hard, work smart, and love what we do.

Where We’re Located
Our firm is located in Warren, Ohio, roughly an hour away from Cleveland, Pittsburgh,
and West Virginia.
In addition to Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, our firm is also registered in Illinois,
Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, New York, and Wisconsin. And with the
reciprocity afforded to us through the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards
(NCARB), we are able to practice architecture all across the United States.

which introduces the User-Group method of design along with frequent construction
cost estimation has yielded comprehensive and long-lasting achievement. It is in the

Our Technology and Equipment
Our firm uses up-to-date, industry-standard equipment and software that allows
for the creation of precise renderings, three-dimensional models, and construction
documents. Every team member utilizes a high-speed workstation that provides for
efficient collaboration both in the office and with clients. This, along with the knowledge
and experience necessary to configure, link, and execute our work, is what allows us
to produce thorough and high-quality presentation and production documents yielding
accurate bid results and quality construction. In addition, our BBS network and use
of secure document drop-boxes assures the confidential storage of all projects and
reference materials.

Structural Engineering
With the capability of providing in-house structural engineering using three-dimensional
modeling, the BBS team can establish the structural system of a building at project
commencement. Our solid background in the construction industry as well as our
strength in building systems, which often significantly affect building type and cost,
yields efficiency and value for our clients.
Civil Engineering
Our on-staff civil engineering department facilitates the evaluation of a site from
utilization, functional, and cost aspects. Coupled with environmental studies, storm
water management, and wetlands mitigation, this advantage enables BBS to consider
the site conditions alongside the functional needs, producing a cohesive solution for our
clients.

Lean Design
We believe it is important to generate solutions that maximize value and minimize
waste. To better serve our clients, we have undergone Lean Design Training through
the Lean Construction Institute. By incorporating Lean methods into all our work, clients
can realize improvements in function while reducing wasted resources such as time,
movement, and human potential. Below are the six tenets that serve as the foundation
of our process when using the Lean Design method.

Multiple BBS team members have participated in various Lean Design webinars,
training sessions, and virtual boot camps. More information about the specific topics
covered in these educational programs can be provided upon request.
LEED Design
In an effort to be sensitive to building efficiencies and environmental concerns, we
emphasize state-of-the-art strategies calculated by a worldwide accepted benchmark for
design, construction, and operation for high performance green buildings.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) provides a road-map for
measuring and documenting the success of every building type as well as the phases
of a building life-cycle. This is achieved by resolving much of the negative impact of
buildings on their occupants and the environment.
When requested, required, or appropriate, Baker Bednar Snyder & Associates, Inc. has
the knowledge and experience along with LEED Professional Accreditation to make
certifiable a building to the level desired while still being conscious of the associated
additional construction costs.

A Commitment to Our Community
Our commitment to our community is strong. Beyond support for numerous foundations
and charities, Baker Bednar Snyder & Associates, Inc. has donated its services to
numerous projects through which we are personally involved.
Some of our pro bono projects include the headquarters for the Greater Western
Reserve Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the Trumbull County World War II
Memorial, the Children’s Rehabilitation Center, and the design of a home for a family in
the Trumbull County Children Services’ system.
Additionally, during Trumbull County’s “The Spectacle of Speed” public art campaign,
our firm sponsored a Warren Goddess of Speed sculpture to commemorate our
commitment to our community.
Award Winning Designs
While our first goal is client satisfaction, we pride ourselves in creating designs that
exceed expectations. As part of that effort, we have been recognized for our innovative
designs numerous times. Awards presented to Baker Bednar Snyder & Associates,
Inc. recognize our contributions to design and
technology as well as civic improvement. Our
work has also been published in trade magazines
which have distinguished our efforts as exciting and
inventive.
Projects receiving recognition include the Elm Road
Medical Park’s Centers for Surgery & Radiology,
7 17 Credit Union’s Corporate Office Building, Mount
Union College’s Dining Hall, a private office building
in Columbiana, and Shepherd of the Valley’s
Assisted Living Facility which was singled out for its
use of geothermal engineering.
