BOTANICAL GARDEN
SWIMMING TO TRIOPETRA
AND MELABES
This tour offers a visit to one of the most diverse botanical gardens of Crete. The Maravel
Garden is the creation of Stephanos Maravelakis. Intermingled with a variety of flowering
trees there are over 300 common and unusual medicinal herbs. The garden is composed of
local and tropical species from all over the world. These spices and herbs have been used for
centuries by the Cretan people as treatment of chronic illnesses or emergencies. On the
guided tour Stephanos will explain the benefits and uses of the plants and herbs. After the
garden our journey to Tripopetra Beach will take us through the Cretan countryside of hills
and small villages. Along the way we are greeted with scenic panoramas of mountains and
the Libyan sea. Our visit at the beach is for 3 hours. There you will find spectacular sea views,
restaurants, swimming and walking on the beach. The umbrellas and sunbeds are free of
charge. On our return we will have a one hour stop at the village Melabes for refreshments.
After this we will continue and arrive at 18:00 in Agia Galini.
