Ganz oder
gar nicht
Was nicht alles in letzter Zeit passiert ist.
Massenimpfungen, verfassungsrechtlich
vorgeschriebener Umweltschutz,
Gwyneth Paltrow isst wieder Brot.
So viele Veränderungen, wer blickt da
noch durch?
Und was hat sich nach über einem Jahr
Corona-Chaos für uns geändert? Außer,
dass wir nach den Lockdowns Freiheiten
und kleine Freuden wieder richtig schätzen
lernen? Schaut man in die sozialen
Medien, könnte man meinen, dass sich
kaum etwas verändert hat. Nach wie vor
werden Leute beschimpft und gegängelt,
die mit ihrer Meinung oder ihrem Äußeren
anecken und nicht dem Mainstream-
Ideal entsprechen.
In dieser CHECK-Ausgabe haben wir uns
daher gefragt, was sich wirklich ändern
könnte und warum das eine gute Idee
ist. Wir könnten weniger nachlässig mit
unserer eigenen und der Gesundheit
unserer Zeitgenossen umgehen und
uns mehr vorbeugend schützen. Etwa in
Form von Darmkrebsvorsorge oder dem
Tragen von anständigen Sonnenbrillen.
Wir könnten das eigene Selbstwertgefühl
ernst nehmen und uns nicht mehr ständig
unterbuttern lassen. Wir könnten aufhören,
Andere aufgrund ihres Aussehens
und ihrer Art zu diskriminieren.
Und wir könnten ab jetzt über Dinge
sprechen, die bisher Tabu waren, weil
irgendwann einmal der bigotte Teil der
Gesellschaft das so entschieden hat.
Für Veränderungen braucht man aber
auch eine gewisse Einstellung: Eine
ganz-oder-gar-nicht-Einstellung. Worauf
warten wir noch?
Bleibt gesund!
All or nothing
INTRO
The things that happened lately. Mass
vaccinations, constitutionally required environmental
protection, Gwyneth Paltrow
eating bread again. So many changes, who
can keep up?
And what has actually changed for us
after more than a year of corona chaos?
Except that during the lockdowns we
really learned to appreciate freedoms and
small pleasures again? Yet if you look at
social media, you might think that hardly
anything is different. People continue to
insult and bully those who offend their
opinion or their appearance and do not
correspond to the mainstream ideal.
That’s why in this issue of CHECK we
asked ourselves what changes would be
worthwhile and why. We could be less careless
with our own health and act more
preventively: in the form of colon cancer
screening or wearing decent sunglasses.
We could take our own self-esteem
seriously and no longer allow ourselves to
be constantly undermined. We could stop
discriminating against others based on
their appearance and lifestyle.
And from now on we also want to talk about
things that were previously taboo: as
after all, things are only taboo because at
some point someone decided that for us.
Change requires a certain attitude though.
An all or nothing attitude. Let’s go for it.
Stay healthy
