Kennedy, William James (GBF 1970–03, EF 2003–) First recipient of the newly
inaugurated gold medal of the Palaeontographical
Society. The medal honours individuals who have made
a sustained and scholarly contribution to the study of the
fossil fauna and flora of the British Isles.

University and the Medical School at the University of

Maclean, Mavis (MCR 1974–87, SLRF 1987–2000). Elected Honorary
Bencher, Middle Temple, in 2013.
Mangel, Marc (MCR 1988–2007, MCR 2014–) Served as the Independent
Scientific Expert of the Government of Australia in its
case in the International Court of Justice, Whaling in
the Antarctic: Australia v Japan: New Zealand Intervening
(whether the Japanese special-permit whaling programme
is for purposes of scientific research or not). Received a
DSc honoris causa from the University of Guelph.
