Always precede a trip to the sea with a visit to the children's clinic. It

is advisable to be examined 2-3 weeks before the expected rest. It is

necessary to pass tests, as well as to conduct a general examination

of the child by a pediatrician.

Preparing for the beach and the sea.

Since children visit the sea on average once or twice a year, it is

necessary to prepare the body for water procedures in advance.

First of all, this concerns hardening. At home, you can gradually

lower the bathing temperature by 1-2 degrees. The habit of walking

barefoot at home is also helpful. Pediatricians call the best method

of hardening to visit swimming pools and water parks. In this case,

the body is additionally accustomed to the ingress of water inside, to

disinfectants. If you are not planning a serious swimming activity, it

is enough to visit the pool 1-2 times a week a month before the trip.

Sunbathing is also a significant threat and stress for an unprepared

child's body. Especially if a child arrives from winter to summer. It is

forbidden to be on the beach in the sun (from 11 am to 4 pm) for both

adults and children. Also, pediatricians advise in the first three days

of rest to limit children's exposure to the sun and additionally use

sunscreens with the highest filter index: SPF 45 or 50, PPU 42, UVA.

Only on days 4–5 can you lower protection (SPF 30) and allow your

child to sunbathe, but no longer than 10–15 minutes. When walking

or playing on the beach, be sure to wear a panama hat, a hat with a

wide brim, as well as a light natural T-shirt.

Trip abroad on the sea.

It is better to entrust the organization of a trip abroad at sea with

children to a reliable tour operator. Experts will help you find the right

family hotel and resort with comfortable conditions for children. The

factors for choosing a hotel should be the availability of a children's

menu, a children's club, entertainment on site, and the convenience

of the beach. Introduce new dishes gradually. In the first days of rest,

do not burden the child's body with unusual foods, limit sweets, and

fatty foods.
