I walked out of there feeling very proud. My heart pumped like a speaker. The
next week I probably thanked Max a hundred times. I wouldn’t have gotten
the courage to stand up for myself without him or his sibling. I learned from
him in that moment that sometimes you don’t get courage from your heart or
your brain, sometimes you get it from others.
