We are delighted to report that<br />

The Asper Foundation, from<br />

Winnipeg, Canada, are<br />

strengthening their existing<br />

collaboration with <strong>HUJI</strong> <strong>Innovate</strong>,<br />

by making a generous gift of $5M<br />

Canadian Dollars. In recognition<br />

of this partnership we are now<br />

called <strong>ASPER</strong>-<strong>HUJI</strong> <strong>Innovate</strong> and<br />

are pleased to unveil our new<br />

logo. This gift will ignite new<br />

activities while enhancing<br />

current ones, strengthen our<br />

ability to raise additional funds<br />

for growth and launch the annual<br />

Asper Prize for Innovation.<br />

Semester 1 <strong>Update</strong><br />

Sparking Entrepreneurial<br />

culture in the university<br />

Over 3,000 students, faculty and university staff participated in<br />

our activities to promote entrepreneurial culture, mindset and<br />

skills in the University during the first semester. The activities<br />

included “Startup Sunday” meetups, the JLM Impact Hackathon,<br />

the annual Creativity Challenge, the “OPEN:Explore” programs<br />

for researchers and more.<br />

Up to $10,000 funding<br />

opportunity in OPEN<br />

enabled by a Gift brought to<br />

us by the British Friends<br />

We are now recruiting the 3rd<br />

cohort of the OPEN venture<br />

creation program and this year we<br />

are offering up to $10,000 grants<br />

for creating a prototype to the<br />

participating teams. This is possible<br />

after receiving an anonymous gift<br />

of $200,000 over four years. A big<br />

thank you to Nigel Salomon and<br />

the British Friends of the Hebrew<br />

University for making this possible!<br />

OPEN Alumni update -<br />

Pigmentum raised $1M<br />

We are really proud of Amir Tiroler<br />

and Tal Lutzky, co-founders of<br />

Pigmentum, a molecular biology<br />

startup that develops new ways to<br />

create natural pigments for the<br />

food or cosmetics industry, for<br />

raising $1M from the Freshstart<br />

incubator. We look forward to<br />

seeing great news about<br />

Pigmentum going forward. OPEN<br />

Alumni have now raised more<br />

$2,000,000! More news soon!<br />
