E O VENCEDOR É...<br />
Todos os alunos que tiverem concluído um<br />
dos mestrados abrangidos, numa <strong>das</strong> Escolas<br />
do CEE, no ano letivo de 2019/<strong>2020</strong>,<br />
puderam candidatar-se ao Best Thesis<br />
Award. As candidaturas foram efetua<strong>das</strong><br />
até dia 12 de abril de <strong>2021</strong>, através do site<br />
apdc.pt/bta.<br />
As candidaturas considera<strong>das</strong> elegíveis<br />
serão analisa<strong>das</strong> por um júri, presidido<br />
por um representante da APDC, ou por<br />
um dos seus associados com competência<br />
delegada, e composto por personalidades<br />
de reconhecido mérito no domínio<br />
<strong>das</strong> áreas do concurso. Os critérios de avaliação<br />
centram-se na qualidade técnica e<br />
científica da dissertação, na sua originalidade e caráter<br />
inovador, mas também no seu impacto social.<br />
A dissertação de mestrado vencedora do Best Thesis<br />
Award será divulgada no 30º Congresso da APDC, que<br />
se irá realizar nos dias 12 e 13 de maio de <strong>2021</strong>, pela primeira<br />
vez em formato híbrido (online e presencial, dependendo<br />
<strong>das</strong> condições pandémicas).•<br />

Porto, The University of Aveiro,<br />
School of Sciences and Technology<br />
of the University of Coimbra,<br />
School of Sciences and Technology<br />
of the New University of Lisbon<br />
and Instituto Superior Técnico.<br />
João Falcão e Cunha, coordinator<br />
of CEE points out that “our higher<br />
education in engineering, information<br />
technologies and telecommunications<br />
are of comparable quality<br />
to the best schools in the world,<br />
and is not limited to the acquisition<br />
of knowledge and experience<br />
in technologies and methods.<br />
Our students often acquire skills<br />
in group work, management, and<br />
leadership of projects and people,<br />
involving research and innovation<br />
activities”. The Best Thesis Award<br />
aims to recognize this merit and<br />
commitment.<br />
AND THE WINNER IS...<br />
All students who will have completed<br />
one of the covered Master’s<br />
degrees at one of the CEE Schools in the<br />
academic year 2019/<strong>2020</strong> may apply for the<br />
Best Thesis Award. The application must be<br />
made by April 12, <strong>2021</strong>, through the website<br />
apdc.pt/bta.<br />
Applications considered eligible will be analyzed<br />
by a jury, chaired by a representative<br />
of the APDC, or by one of its members with<br />
delegated powers, and composed of individuals<br />
of recognized merit in the areas of<br />
the competition. The evaluation criteria will<br />
focus on the technical and scientific quality<br />
of the dissertation, its originality and innovative<br />
character, but also its social impact.<br />
The Best Thesis Award-winning dissertation<br />
will be announced at the 30th APDC Congress,<br />
to be held on May 12 and 13, <strong>2021</strong>,<br />
for the first time in a hybrid format (online<br />
and in-person, depending on pandemic<br />
conditions).•<br />
