A primeira fase do Programa UPskill<br />

recebeu mais de 5.500 candidaturas<br />

e arrancou no último trimestre de<br />

<strong>2020</strong> com 430 formandos, em sete<br />

localidades: Castelo Branco, Guarda,<br />

Lisboa, Porto, Setúbal, Sintra<br />

e Viseu, nos vários Institutos Politécnicos<br />

e no ISCTE. Formaram-se<br />

25 turmas de cursos como programação<br />

em Java, .Net, Python, Cobol,<br />

Outsystems, Gestão de plataformas<br />

CRM e Enterprise Resource<br />

Planning, Cloud Services ou Redes e<br />

Cibersegurança. A idade média dos<br />

participantes foi de 31 anos e o balanço<br />

não poderia ser mais positivo,<br />

como se pode confirmar por alguns<br />

testemunhos: “É uma formação super<br />

completa e que nos dá as ferramentas<br />

necessárias para construir<br />

um futuro mais risonho com uma<br />

carreira sólida dentro desta área”;<br />

“Espero que este seja o primeiro<br />

passo para chegar a Chief Technological<br />

Officer dentro de alguns anos. Temos<br />

excelentes condições e os formadores<br />

mostraram um enorme<br />

empenho para que a nossa aprendizagem<br />

seja um sucesso”; “A experiência<br />

tem sido excelente. Os conteúdos<br />

são muito interessantes e o<br />

staff soberbo. Aconselho vivamente<br />

o Programa!”.<br />

Os estágios nas 20 empresas que<br />

aderiram até agora ao UPskill já começaram<br />

e, no segundo semestre<br />

do ano, centenas de novos profissionais<br />

estarão aptos para os novos<br />

desafios digitais. Entretanto, está em preparação a<br />

segunda edição do Programa, pelo que as empresas<br />

interessa<strong>das</strong> podem a qualquer momento juntar-se<br />

a esta iniciativa. O propósito mantém-se inalterado:<br />

qualificar mais e melhores profissionais, tornar<br />

as empresas mais fortes e prepara<strong>das</strong>, contribuindo<br />

para um país mais competitivo. E mais digital,<br />

claro.•<br />

The second edition<br />

of the UPskill<br />

Program is already<br />

under preparation,<br />

with the purpose<br />

of qualifying<br />

more and better<br />

professionals,<br />

making companies<br />

stronger and more<br />

prepared and<br />

contributing to a<br />

more competitive<br />

and digital country<br />

develop a new career in technology.<br />

After enrolling, candidates are submitted<br />

to a set of qualification tests in an online<br />

environment, followed by a face-to-face<br />

interview, in which their level of English is<br />

also assessed. The approved candidates<br />

can select the training areas they want to<br />

attend, full-time, these training actions<br />

happen in one of the Higher Education<br />

institutions included in the Program.<br />

The first phase of the UPskill Program<br />

received 5,600 applications and started in<br />

the last quarter of <strong>2020</strong> with 430 trainees<br />

in seven locations: Castelo Branco, Guarda,<br />

Lisboa, Porto, Setúbal, Sintra, and Viseu,<br />

in several Polytechnic Institutes and<br />

ISCTE. Twenty-five classes were formed<br />

in courses such as programming in Java,<br />

.Net, Python, Cobol, Outsystems, CRM<br />

platform management, and Enterprise<br />

Resource Planning, Cloud Services or<br />

Networks and Cybersecurity. The average<br />

age of the participants was 31 years old,<br />

and the balance couldn’t be more positive,<br />

as confirmed by some testimonials:”<br />

us the necessary tools to build a brighter<br />

future with a solid career in this area; I<br />

hope this is the first step to become Chief<br />

Technological Officer in a few years. We<br />

have excellent conditions and the trainers<br />

The internships in the 20 companies that<br />

have joined UPskill have already begun<br />

and, in the second half of the year, hundreds<br />

of new professionals will be ready for the new<br />

digital challenges. Meanwhile, the second edition<br />

of the program is being prepared, so interested<br />

companies can join this initiative at any time. The<br />

purpose remains unchanged: to qualify more and<br />

better professionals, to make companies stronger<br />

and better prepared, contributing to a more competitive<br />

country. And more digital, of course.•<br />
