A Vintage Adventure for Dementia Support
You might have spotted local charity, Dementia Support’s, Dress Up for Dementia antics
throughout the lockdowns to raise funds, but now they are taking their efforts to new
heights (and into the past) with their fi rst national campaign.
Adventure
On the 7th of May, Dementia Support will be combining dressing up and
memories with A Vintage Adventure for Dementia Support to celebrate
the 3rd birthday of Sage House – the first dementia hub in the country.
Sage House welcomes those living with dementia, their loved ones, and carers for
respite and personal care services (such as hairdressing and bathing), as well as being
home to their unique Wayfi nding service, which provide support and advice to those
navigating the journey of dementia.
They are joined by local vintage performer, Dawn Gracie
who has been a friend and volunteer of Dementia Support’s
for many years, entertaining customers and staff with her
performances both in person and, more recently, virtually.
When asked, Dawn said she was most excited for
“connecting with people again and celebrating another
milestone with Dementia Support. It’s all the things I love:
the dress up combined with the vintage and music and
memories.”
Dementia Support are encouraging the public to dress
up in vintage attire and share memories together,
whilst enjoying an afternoon tea and a live stream
performance by Dawn Gracie.
