he’d done with his fingers in the forest, over myy breeches, was absolutelyy

nothing compared to his skin against mine.

He worked his wayy down, using his mouth and then his tongue to

follow the path his hands had blazed. He stayyed in particularlyy sensitive

areas, wringing sounds from me that made me brieflyy wonder just how

thick the walls were, and then he lingered over the scars on myy stomach,

kissing them, worshipping them until I was sure that he didn’t find them

disturbing or uglyy in anyy wayy.

But then he moved lower still, past myy navel.

Myy heart stopped as I felt his breath against where I ached so fiercelyy.

I could even open myy eyyes.

Hawke lifted his head, lips swollen and glossyy in the candlelight. The

intensityy in his stare scorched myy skin as his gaze caught and held mine.

He never looked prouder of himself as his mouth parted and the tip of his

tongue glided over his lips. “Honeyydew,” he growled. “Just like I said.”

Myy breath caught, and I shuddered. He didn’t so much move as he

prowled up the length of myy boneless form. I watched him, unable to look
