The Queen Mary
Diamond Bandeau Tiara
This diamond and platinum bandeau
tiara is formed as a flexible band of
eleven sections, pavé set with large and
small brilliant diamonds in a geometric
design. The centre is set with a detachable
brooch of ten brilliant diamonds. The
centerpiece was originally a sapphire,
which was later changed to diamond.
The tiara was made in 1932 for the
Queen’s grandmother, Queen Mary, and
specifically designed to accommodate the
centre brooch.
Princess D’s
Blue Sapphire
Ring
A
gorgeous 12-carat
oval Ceylon sapphire
surrounded with 14 solitaire
diamonds set in 18-karat
white gold, it is believed
that Princess Diana
herself chose this ring
from Garrard’s collection,
as it reminded her of her
mother’s engagement ring.
At the time, it cost Prince
Charles $60,000, though,
it’s now worth more than
$500,000.
The Delhi Durbar
Tiara
This tiara was made for
Queen Mary to wear to the
Delhi Durbar on 12 December
1911, a ceremonial gathering
which marked King George V’s
succession as King Emperor of
India. The tiara was originally
surmounted by 10 large
emeralds to match the suite of
diamond and emerald jewellery
which Queen Mary had made
to wear at the Delhi Dubar.
