Round & About Rough & Mining De Beers and Diacore Partner in Purchase of 5 Extraordinary Blue Diamonds The diamonds were discovered at the legendary Cullinan Diamond Mine, which, for over a century, has produced some magnificent gems and is the birthplace of the most famous diamond of all time, the Cullinan, that proudly sits within the British Crown Jewels. Diacore is an expert in cutting rare, exceptional gems, particularly coloured diamonds, and has partnered with De Beers Group previously on cutting the 203.04 carat Millennium Star diamond. De Beers and Diacore will select expert craftsmen to study and work with the diamonds and ultimately unlock their natural beauty before they are presented to the public. Lucara Recovers 998 ct Diamond from Karowe Mine in Botswana Lucara Diamond Corp. announced recovery of an unbroken 998 carat high white clivage diamond from its 100% owned Karowe Diamond Mine located in Botswana. The diamond, measuring 67x49x45mm, was recovered from direct milling of ore sourced from the EM/ PK(S) unit of the South Lobe, and follows a notable series of diamond recoveries during this recent production run, including a number of top quality clivage and gem quality stones of 273, 105, 83, 73, and 69 carats in weight. The EM/PK(S) forms an important economic driver for the proposed underground mine at Karowe and continues to produce large gem quality diamonds in line with expectations, a further testament to the strong resource performance at Karowe. Louis Vuitton buys Exceptional 549ct Diamond Sethunya from Lucara Sethunya was recovered unbroken from direct milling of ore sourced from the EM/PK(S) unit of the South Lobe of Lucara's 100% owned Karowe Mine in February 2020. This agreement builds on the collaboration, announced in January, with Louis Vuitton and HB on the historic 1,758 carat Sewelô, Botswana's largest diamond, recovered from Karowe last year. POLISHED DIAMONDS Round & About Kunming Diamonds buys 2.24ct Argyle Eternity in Rio Tinto's Recent Tender Lot Number 1, the 2.24 carat Argyle Eternity, the most valuable diamond in the collection and the most valuable Fancy Vivid diamond in the Tender’s 37 year history, was sold to Hong Kong fancy coloured diamond specialist, Kunming Diamonds. Kunming Diamonds was also the successful bidder of other lots in the Tender. Ajay Maheshwari (Jakhotia) and Harsh Maheshwari of Kunming Diamonds said “It is an extraordinary opportunity and a privilege to be part of the history making Argyle diamond mine. We are humbled to be the custodians of these iconic rare jewels and are delighted to be part of their enduring legacy.” The 2020 Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender was the penultimate showcase with a final Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender occurring in 2021, drawing upon the 2020 production from the now shuttered Argyle mine.
