There’s thousandsof gifts—no exaggeration—ranging fromsports logo items and Harley Davidsongear to crosses, clothing, purses and pottery.The walls at the top of the stairs maytell tales—the building used to house BigBear’s first hotel, the historic Navajo builtin 1920, kept busy by gold miners and ladiesof the night—but today the real storyis on the shelves, with goods from artisansaround town, the country, even the world.Sixteen theme rooms present a widerange of gift ideas, from bears and princessdolls, signs and home goods to gourmetfoods and Oriental treasures and muchmore, many items handmade. There’s anentire Princess Room, with dolls anddresses and tea party sets and wallets.Duck inside the Tiki Room for Asiathemegifts like adorable stuffed pandabears, fans and dragon figurines. The PotteryRoom not only features handthrownclay plates and pots, lead-free and microwaveand dishwasher safe, but also soappumps and dreamcatchers.For sports fans there’s not one but tworooms filled with memorabilia like playingcards, team coffee cups and shotglasses, signs and more. There’s astadium’s worth of football team selectionsto choose from whether you root for theRams or Chargers and all the other teamstoo—especially the Raiders! Stockingsin a variety of designs are less than tenbucks and there’s gingerbread man ornamentsfor $3.50.Particularly unique and appropriate atthis time of year is the “Cross Room.”Cross-bearing carved bears are one-of-akindbut there’s many other selections tochoose from. Thenthere’s the ChimeRoom, with anendless selectionof pieces.Large rusticwood Americanflags are in seasonfor $34.98 withsmaller ones still acouple feet longfor $19.98.
