Offered prayers by bewildered pecocks, black waves of aguru-incense smoke float<br />

above Lord Hari's palace. O hero, if by seeing them you become attracted to<br />

Mänasa-sarovara, then you have been defeated by a love for staying with fools.<br />

Note: Peacocks are pleased by the monsoon season, but swans flee to Mänasasarovara.<br />

Here Lalitä says that if the swan shares the peacocks' bewilderment and<br />

thinks the waves of incense to be monsoon clouds, he is a fool.<br />

lasad-bhitti-präntaà mura-vijayinaù keli-nilayam<br />

tataù-from that; madhye-in the middle; kakñam-secret place; prati-nava-fresh; gavaksawindows;<br />

stabakitam-with blossoms of flowers; calat-moving; muktä-pearls; älambahanging<br />

down; sphuritam-manifested; amala-splendid; stambha-pillars; nivahammultitude;<br />

bhavän-you; drañöä-the observor; hema-golden; ullikhita-written; daçama-of<br />

the tenth; skandha-canto (of the Çrémad-Bhägavatam); caritaiù-with the pastimes;<br />

lasat-shining; bhitti-of the wall; präntam-edge; mura-of the Mura demon; vijayinaù-of<br />

the conqueror (Çré Kåñëa); keli-of the pastimes; nilayam-abode.<br />

You will see Kåñëa's private pastime-room, its windows decorated with fresh<br />

flowers, its splendid columns decorated with swinging strands of pearls, and its<br />

walls glorious with Tenth-Canto pastimes in lines of gold.<br />

alinde-on the terrace; tasya-of that; äste-is; marakata-mayé-emerald; yañöiù-pillar;<br />

amalä-splendid; çayäluù-sleepy; yäm-which; rätrau-at night; mada-excited; kalasounds;<br />

kaläpé-peacock; kalayati-performs; nirätaìkam-free from fear; tasyäù-of that;<br />

çikharam-summit; adhiruhya-having climbed; çrama-of fatigue; nudam-removing;<br />

pratékñethäù-please observe; bhrätaù-O brother; varam-excellent; avasaram-place of<br />

pastimes; yädava-of the Yadu dynasty; pateù-of the Lord (Çré Kåñëa).<br />

On His terrace is an emerald column where a splendid cooing peacock sleeps at<br />

night. Brother, fearlessly fly to the top of that column and wait for the pastimes of<br />

the Yadus' king.
