gilati-swallows; kala-haàsaù-swan; bisa-latäm-lotus flowers; kvacit-someplace;<br />
krauïca-äräteù-of Kartikeya, the enemy of the Krauïca mountain; kavalayati-devours;<br />
keké-peacock; viña dharam-poisonous snakes; viléòhe-eats; çallakyäù-of the çallaké<br />
creeper; vala-ripu-of Indra, the enemy of Vala; karé-the elephant; pallavam-flower;<br />

Somewhere there Çiva's bull chews grass. Somewhere Brahmä's swan swallows<br />
lotus stems. Somewhere Kärttikeya's peacock devours poisonous snakes.<br />
Somewhere Indra's elephant eats çallaké sprouts.<br />

abhodhiñöhäù käyän nahi vighaöitäà pracchad-apaöéà<br />
vimuktäm ajïäséù pathi na muktävalim api<br />
ayi çré-govinda-smaraëa-madirä-matta-hådaye<br />
satéti khyätià te hasati kulaöänäà kulam idam<br />
abhodhiñöhäù-you understood; käyät-from the body; nahi-surely not; vighaöitämfallen;<br />
pracchat-covering; apatim-veil; vimuktäm-released; ajïäséù-you undertood; pathi<br />
pathi-on the paths; na-not; muktä-of peals; ävalim-multitude; api-even; ayi-O; çrégovinda-of<br />
Lord Govinda; smaraëa-remembrance; madirä-by the liquor; mattaintoxicated;<br />
hådaye-heart; saté-smiles; kulaöänäm-of prostitutes; kulam-community;<br />
idam-this.<br />
You don't know the garments have fallen from your body. You don't know your<br />
pearls have spilled on the street. O girl whose heart is intoxicated by the wine of<br />
thinking of Çré Govinda, the prostitutes are laughing at your chaste reputation.<br />
Note: This verse and the four verses following are spoken by women when Kåñëa<br />
entered Mathurä for the first time.
