Auspicious welcome to the
Sharan Navaratri Celebrations – 2006 Sep 23 rd to Oct 2nd
Sri Lalitha Parameswari Manidweepa Maha Samsthanam, Penusila Ashram
Om chit ruupena ya kathsnameta divyapyasthita jagat
Namastasyai namastasyai namastasyai namo namaha
Dear Devotees:
Sri Lalita Bahavani Devi, who is the indivisible light of righteousness is chidrupini, of the form of Consciousness.
Sri Lalita Bhavani is beyond tattvam and not just the essence. There is nothing in this world that does not have the essence
of Mother – Sarvam Shakti mayam jagat. This is the statement in the Veda. As everything is full of Sri Devi, the entire
lifeless as well as conscious forms are perceived as Jagan Mata alone.
Sri Devi is worshipped in the nine days of the Navaratri festival in order to experience samata bhava – feeling the presence
of the same Brahman in all beings. The sacred days of Navaratri are very powerful. In the past, even great Kings putting
aside their royal duties during these days, used to worship the all powerful Jagat Janani and obtained power, peace and all
good fortune by Her compassionate grace.
The benevolent Mother Sri Lalitambika not only bestows all the worldly enjoyments and all good fortune on
whoever worships Sri Lalita Tripura Sundari during the sacred days of Navaratri, she also grants them salokya,
sarupya, samipya, sayujya and kaivalya. That is why, the worship of Sri Jagan Mata has continued without
interruption through the ages till today. As this worship continues through time, Devi is granting wonderful Shakti or
energy, tejas or brilliance and all desires to those who serve Her.
The formless Purna Brahmamayi, complete supreme Consciousness has assumed numerous forms such as Maha Kali,
Maha Lakshmi, Maha Saraswati, Sri Durga Parameshwari, Sri Chamundeshwari in order to discipline the wicked and
protect dharma.
All the powers of the thirty million devatas and all the powers of consciousness of Sri Durga, Sri Lakshmi, Sri Saraswati,
Sri Bhramaramba, Sri Kamakshi, Sri Meenakshi, Sri Visalakshi, Sri Annapurna and all the divine forms are condensed
in the supremely sacred form of Sri Lalita Tripura Sundari. Sri Mata has bound the whole world with the power of
Her maya just as a door is bound by a lock. It is only due to Her divine grace that it is possible to overcome all
difficulties, suffering, ill health, commotions and dangers and attain liberation from all kinds of bondages
of karma. The Vedas were spellbound and nable to describe the infinite power of Jagan Mata and Her
miraculous glories. Jagadambaa, the Universal Divine Mother is millions of times more
compassionate than described by the Vedas. By showering Her love on Her creation and Her
children, She makes it easy for them to seek Her protection.
Shloka:
Tat pujanam yadiha jaanada jaanadarham
Maatashcha kantha mahatiikila chaaturiiyam
Jaanadbhireva bhavatiiyadi puujaniiyaa
Lukyeta puujana kadhaina jagatrayeta
Whether one worships Jagan Mata with the full knowledge of Her essence, or in all
innocence without it, the results of Her worship are always auspicious and
beneficial. How is this so? If one were to say that you cannot worship
Jagadamba without knowing anything about Her, then even
Brahma cannot worship Her. She is so enigmatic that Universal
Mother is beyond the comprehension of even Brahma and
others. The thirty million devatas, trimurtis, munis and
jnanis themselves could not know the nature of Sri Devi. Then, is it possible for ordinary people to know Her?!
Therefore, if one were to say that only those who can fully understand the principle of Sri Devi can worship Her, then
there would be nobody in the three worlds who could ever worship Sri Devi. That is why in the Rig Veda, Veda Mata
declared that everybody is eligible to worship their own Mother, Sri Lalita Tripura Sundari whether they know Her or not.
Sri Lalita Bhavani Manidweepa Maha Samsthanam is a Trishakti maha pitha, the great, sacred altar of the three supreme
divinities. Along with the images of Sri Maha Lakshmi, Sri Maha Saraswati, Ganesha and Skanda, Sri Lalita Tripura
Sundari Devi, who is Sri Chakra Samrajni, empress of the Sri Chakra, is shining with the brilliance of a million lights. Our
two eyes are not enough to have the beautiful darshan of Sri Devi in this temple. Sri Lalitambika Devi stands here in all
Her golden brilliance and fulfills the desires of Her devotees.
The consecration for the worship of Sri Lalita Tripura Sundari Devi will begin on September 23rd, 2006, the day of
Paadhyami and hasta nakshatra, just as in past years. We whole-heartedly invite all devotees to participate in the unique
celebration of Navaratri this year. At this sacred time devotees come from all corners of the world, wear their diksha
mala, diksha vasthram, diksha kankana and serve Jagan Mata with love, and receive the belssings of our beloved Amma
