It could be different from person to person, but I often find lectures and assignment work rather
tedious and mundane. That’s why I picked up new hobbies like music and investing, things that I
know will be useful to me later down the line. There are people who let go of themselves and
indulge in parties and “fun”, but in my personal opinion doing that excessively is a waste of precious
time. Instead of spending your night out and getting intoxicated, why not research new market
trends and maybe earn a quick buck? Instead of spending your time on unproductive things, why
not use that time to upgrade and add value to yourself? Obviously there is a balance to be
maintained there, but my ultimate point is remember to work hard as well as play hard.
CKY’s environment shaped my values to be the person I am today. It created a sense of
accountability for my own behavior, and that you are the driving factor that leads to change, not
other people. Once you are exposed to the college environment, this becomes increasingly true.
You hold the key to your own destiny.
After college, I would love to go into high finance, and perhaps later down the line start my own
fund. A very ambitious dream, but very doable through hard work. Dreams don’t become reality until
you start working, and college is the perfect time to do it. You can either waste your time and never
achieve your goals, or work extremely hard and become who you want to be – what will you
choose?
