Kindness at CKY
During times of crisis, such as a global pandemic where we have collectively faced difficult times,
supporting each other through these rough patches in life becomes increasingly important. We
become more aware of the need to help each other through kind acts, words and deeds. We know that
we will come out stronger on the other side of hard times, but to get through it requires a group effort
calling for extra acts of care, thoughtfulness and compassion towards others in our community and
beyond.
Intermittent school suspensions and being cooped up indoors more often can take its toll on the
physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing of everyone. As we are now more conscious of the
need to promote positive mental health, the 18th edition of the CKY Newsletter shines a spotlight on
Kindness at CKY. The ways in which we can extend kindness to others, not only our family and
friends but to anyone else in need, are countless and have the beneficial effect of lifting the spirits of
the receiver of kindness. Moreover, a virtuous circle of kindness tends to follow, where the sender of
kindness receives such positive feelings from having done a good turn, that it encourages her/him to
continue showing care, consideration and thoughtfulness towards many others.
