HIGH PERFORMANCE RADIAL FAN
RUNS CLEAN, ENSURES CONSTANT AIR
FLOW FOR UNIFORM DISTRIBUTION
John Deere Orchard Sprayers feature
a large, high efficiency radial fan
that offers significant advantages
over the axial fans used on competitive
sprayers. It provides high air
speeds, without the turbulence typically
associated with axial designs.
As such, you can spray at higher air
velocities for reduced drift and
improved penetration when conditions
require (when spraying during
high winds, for example). In most cases
however, it is sufficient to spray with
lower revs, which saves fuel and reduces
noise and wear. The radial fan, in combination
with the John Deere adjustable
Cross Flow System, provides constant
air speed and airflow over the full height
of the boom. What’s more, airflow on
both sides of the boom is completely
symmetrical, ensuring uniform chemical
spray deposit.
The high efficiency radial fan won’t
suck in grass, leaves or spray liquid
and therefore lose air capacity –
unlike some axial type fans. It runs
cleaner, ensuring complete and uniform
airflow. It’s a lot quieter, too.
John Deere Orchard Sprayers are
available in two models, in either
3 or 4 metre spraying heights.
The model 310 offers 1000 litre tank
capacity and the model 315 offers
1500 litre capacity.
The radial fan creates greater static
air pressure, so the airflow can be
directed accurately to the tree form
and growth stage. Improves chemical
coverage and control.

Advanced
control for
constant rates
Need another reason to invest in a
John Deere Orchard Sprayer? Consider
the spray control. It was developed
specially for the unique needs of
orchard spraying. Computer controlled,
it makes it easy to programme the
desired application rate per tree volume.
And it maintains that rate under all conditions
… even when tree heights vary.
The spray control system EL-3/844 also
lets you operate the pressure regulator
(in manual mode), section valves and
the optional rotary switch for the electric
adjustment of the airflow direction.
During spraying you can constantly
monitor the actual spray pressure, travel
speed, application rate, amount and
hectares sprayed.
Highly manoeuvrable, John Deere Orchard
Sprayers provide simple, no fuss transport
from one orchard to the next. The wide tyres
help prevent ruts and improve stability. An
optional rubber pressure roll can be added
for improved weight distribution over grass
and turf.
You’ll gain precise control
over application rates thanks
to this computer based spray
controller developed especially
for orchard spraying.
NEW
JOHN DEERE
ORCHARD
SPRAYERS
LET YOU
SQUEEZE
MORE PROFIT
How many times will you spray your
orchards this season … 20? 25? More?
If you’d like to save money on every
pass, improve spray coverage and minimise
drift, you owe it to yourself to
take a careful look at these new orchard
sprayers from John Deere. That’s right.
The same company that designs and
builds some of the world’s foremost
tractors and harvesting equipment now
offers a new line of high performance
sprayers … including advanced
orchard sprayers featured here.
John Deere Orchard Sprayers
offer innovations that you won’t find on
competitive sprayers. Exclusive technology
such as the adjustable Cross Flow
System that lets you closely match
spray patterns to the height, shape and
John Deere Orchard Sprayers feature
a large, quiet running centrifugal
fan. It provides very constant air
flow from the distribution fan to the
tree. You don’t experience the turbulence
that’s created by axial fans.
maturity of your trees. With the optional
in cab control of the air flow direction
you can react quickly to changing
wind speed, wind direction and driving
direction. An optimal penetration and
reduced spray drift can now be
achieved at the same time. Or consider
the new spray controller, specially
designed for the unique needs of
orchard spraying. The desired application
rate per tree volume will be maintained
under all conditions, even when
the upper nozzles are closed. Therefore
it is the ideal tool for spraying more
precisely and in a selective manner
according to the actual tree height.
1. Heavy duty piston diaphragm
pump provides high capacity at low
speeds for less wear, improved fuel
economy, greater reliability.
2. A large 150 litre rinse tank is
integrated neatly into the solution
tank. It lets you rinse the spray lines
and nozzles, even when the solution
tank is filled. When the tank is empty
it can be rinsed with optional rotating
rinsing nozzles inside the solution
tank.
3. A large, deep basket strainer
provides fast, convenient chemical
filling. Empty chemical containers
can be cleaned with the rinse head
shown here.
4. A heavy duty electronic controller provides
instant control of section valves. A
large electric diaphragm regulator provides
precise control of pressure, even when
spraying at extremely low volumes. Notice
the easy to read solution tank gauge.

EXCLUSIVE ADJUSTABLE CROSS FLOW
SYSTEM IMPROVES PENETRATION
AND REDUCES DRIFT
Since trees vary in size and shape from
one orchard to another, getting the optimum
spray pattern for each can be next
to impossible. In fact, research shows
that air distribution and direction have a
major influence on spray distribution.
That’s why John Deere offers the unique
adjustable Cross Flow System. With the
adjustable system, you can adjust the air
ducts and nozzle spacings to match
the tree’s size, shape and growth stage.
You’ll obtain much better penetration,
improved coverage and greater chemical
effectiveness.
With the John Deere adjustable Cross
Flow System, you can adjust the airflow
direction to match the size and
shape of your trees, improving spray
deposit and distribution significantly.
Of special note: the adjustable Cross
Flow System can be configured for
spraying every other row.
Cross Flow System
Distribution ++
Leaf coverage ++
As soon as your trees have leaves,
the air ducts can be set at a slight
upward angle for optimum coverage
of both the upper and lower sides of
the leaves. A transverse setting of
the air ducts improves coverage of
the buds during green bud and
mouse-ear leaf stage.
Air ducts and nozzles are individually
adjustable for both height and
direction. Spray nozzles are mounted
in front of the airflow. The liquid distribution
is therefore not disturbed
by the air flow and obstacles do not
disturb the air flow.
An optional electric motor lets you
adjust all air ducts simultaneously
from the cab. Lets you adapt quickly
to changing wind speed, wind direction
and driving direction. Provides
optimal penetration and reduced
drift.
