Appendix VII Northport Capital Cost Estimate Descriptions
This account includes the following required for new combined cycle equipment:
• Subsurface investigation
• Site preparation
• General excavation and backfill
• Piling
• Erosion control
• Roads and parking
• Fencing
• Landscaping
• Drainage
• Row of lighting poles to the north of existing road to be relocated (if required) to the new road.
• Buried communication line (possibly fiber optic) that runs north from a utility pole on the north
side of the existing road.
• Miscellaneous buried conduits that run north (or northwest) from a utility pole on the southeast
corner of the area.
• Storm drain on the north edge of the area.
• The existing recharge basin at the northwest corner of the area will be relocated
F1/F2 Water/Wastewater Treatment Area
The area includes:
• Makeup water supply and treatment systems consisting of two 100-percent makeup water supply
pumps, two-100% (130 gpm each) RO systems with electro deionization and including a
1,000,000 gallon storage tank for demineralized water. The tank will provide approximately 20
hours of storage when firing distillate oil and approximately 5 days of storage with natural gas
firing.
• Wastewater treatment for boiler blowdown, equipment washes, wastes and oily wastes from
equipment area drains; will be directed to the existing wastewater treatment facility. Drains for
plant equipment areas will be directed to oil/water separator(s) prior to discharge. Reject water
from the RO system will be directed to the inlet lagoon.
• It is assumed that the existing septic system(s) serving Unit 4 will be reused. A new septic
system is included for sanitary waste from the new administration building.
