From a strictly biblical perspective, the answer is clear. 'Yes and No.' Everybody who has received the Holy Spirit speaks in tongues as a sign. But not everybody also operates in the gift of tongues. In other words, in the bible, we find two types of speaking in tongues. - The accompanying sign of speaking in tongues, according to Jesus in Mark 16:17: "And these signs shall follow those who believe ... in my name ... they will speak with new tongues ..." - And the gift of tongues, according to Paul in 1 Corinthians 12:10-11: "To one is given ... to another different kinds of tongues .. one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills." We need to take heed to his instructions:<br />
to edify ourselves and pray for ourselves<br />
and others always in the Spirit (= in<br />
tongues).<br />

PRAY<strong>IN</strong>G ALWAYS with all prayer<br />
and supplication <strong>IN</strong> THE SPIRIT,<br />
being watchful to this end with all<br />
perseverance and supplication for all<br />
the saints ...<br />
And we should take heed of Jude’s advice.<br />
He is saying the same.<br />
He also instructs us to continually be<br />
edifying ourselves by praying in the<br />
Spirit.<br />

up on your most holy faith, PRAY<strong>IN</strong>G<br />
<strong>IN</strong> THE HOLY SPIRIT,<br />
