DO ALL SPEAK IN TONGUES? - ALBERT ELISHA OBERDORFER - SAMPLE

From a strictly biblical perspective, the answer is clear. 'Yes and No.' Everybody who has received the Holy Spirit speaks in tongues as a sign. But not everybody also operates in the gift of tongues. In other words, in the bible, we find two types of speaking in tongues. - The accompanying sign of speaking in tongues, according to Jesus in Mark 16:17: "And these signs shall follow those who believe ... in my name ... they will speak with new tongues ..." - And the gift of tongues, according to Paul in 1 Corinthians 12:10-11: "To one is given ... to another different kinds of tongues .. one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills." 9 YOU ARE MAD!
PAUL WAS sensitive and wise.
He had the interests of others at heart.
He put himself into the shoes of others
and then reached them from where they
were.
He was a Jew to the Jews and a Gentile to
the Gentiles.
So that he could reach them.
We see Paul’s heart also in the instructions
he gives to the church when he tells us
how to go about speaking in tongues.
I have seen prayer meetings where people
flat out spoke in tongues, and bystanders
(unbelievers or uninformed) just gasped
with an open mouth at what they were
seeing.
Because it was so far out for them.
They had never seen anything like it
before.
And, for sure, they thought that these
people must be mad.
