FINAL LEINSTER V MUNSTER “It’s great to win these games because there’s an incredible rivalry there going through the years. “It’s the big one for both teams. It’s not quite the intensity of international games but not far off.” The reshaping of the season to find space for the Rainbow Cup means the PRO14 final has an earlier March date. It falls between the final Guinness Six Nations round - and Ireland’s Dublin victory over England - and the resumption of the Heineken Champions Cup. Leinster have home advantage, too, at the RDS but McGrath said: “It’s different without a crowd. I don’t see a real advantage. “It’s different to have a final in March but exciting at the same time. “You’ve got guys coming back from being away with Ireland, so early in the week is going to be very important. “It’s a busy period as we’ve got Toulon the following week in the (Heineken) Champions Cup but it’s the same for Munster as well.” McGrath, capped 19 times and a member of Ireland’s 2019 World Cup squad, missed out on Six Nations selection this year. But the 28-year-old, who hopes to come up against Munster’s Conor Murray at the RDS, has not given up hope of winning more international honours. “I was disappointed not to be in the Ireland squad,” McGrath said. “There’s so much competition for that jersey in the international team and it’s always an honour to play. “But I’ve really enjoyed my time with Leinster when the international lads have been away. “The only thing you can do is keep working hard and playing well.” 27|03|21 RDS ARENA | DUBLIN 19
