to Wcw a’i Ffrindiau - a special<br />
magazine for under 7’s. This<br />
supplement is created specially to help<br />
non-Welsh speaking families to join in<br />
the fun. With every issue, we include a<br />
translation of the whole magazine.<br />
Why?<br />
If your children are learning Welsh at<br />
school, it’s vital that they use the language<br />
outside the classroom as well - that’s the<br />
route to success. <strong>WCW</strong> a’i ffrindiau will<br />
make Welsh interesting and exciting for<br />
your children ... and will help you pick up<br />
the language too.<br />
How?<br />
On these pages there are translations of the<br />
pages in the magazine. We use numbers and<br />
colours to help you find your way around.<br />

1. Mummy and Daddy Pig<br />
are measuring the children.<br />
“You’re growing tall, Peppa,”<br />
says Mummy Pig.<br />
2. They measure George as<br />
well. “I’m taller (talach) than<br />
(na) George,” says Peppa.<br />
3. But at school, Peppa gets a<br />
surprise (syndod). There’s a<br />
new boy there – Jim Jiraff. And<br />
Jim is very, very tall!<br />
4. So, when the children go out<br />
to play hide and seek (chwarae<br />
cwato – south; north – chwarae<br />
cuddio), there’s a little<br />
problem ... or a big problem<br />
perhaps. “One, two, three, I’m<br />
coming,” says Peppa.<br />
5. But Jim can’t hide. “Here you<br />
are!” says Peppa. And Jim is<br />
very disappointed (siomedig)...<br />
Jim doesn’t want to play any<br />
more (rhagor). “Sometimes,<br />
it’s a nuisance being tall,” says<br />
Jim Jiraff.<br />
6. The other children go to<br />
play football (pêl-droed). But<br />
now there’s another problem.<br />
The ball is stuck (sownd) on<br />
the branches (brigau) of the<br />
tree and no-one (neb) can<br />
reach (cyrraedd) it.<br />
7. Peppa has an idea. “How<br />
about asking Jim Jiraff?” says<br />
Peppa. Jim stretches (estyn)<br />
his neck high into the tree and<br />
brings the ball down. “Well<br />
done, Jim,” say the children.<br />
8. At the end of the day,<br />
Jim’s parents come and<br />
collect him from school.<br />
They are very, very, very tall.<br />
“Sometimes, it’s great being<br />
tall,” says Peppa.<br />
