Because the old trophy had been lost by Darwin last year, they got us a new one, which we brought home with us and will fight to keep in future years. The day ended with a very special bop that featured a Darwin DJ and a great performance by the Darwin band ‘The Galapagogos’. Once again, regardless of who won (and we did, in case you ask), the event was enjoyed by all concerned and brought us closer to our sister college: we are all students living much the same life, and belong to the same family whichever place we come from. We look forward to welcoming our distant cousins here next year, and giving them just the same friendly experience they gave us, but not including the trophy. Good luck, Darwin. See you all next year! Entz (external) by Maysa Falah and Nicholas Michelarakis Another big year started with three exchange dinners in Michaelmas, with Lady Margaret Hall, Linacre and St Antony’s. We organised a trip to Bath and another to the ‘Lion King’ musical in London. In Hilary, three more exchange dinners were held, with Green Templeton, St Peter’s and Brasenose, as well as a wine and cheese exchange with Worcester and Regent’s Park. We made a trip to London to watch ‘The Book of Mormon’ musical, and we organised an event to support the Boat Race in April. Trinity came bringing good weather which we took advantage of, by enjoying exchange dinners with St Anne’s and Somerville, as well as a trip to Brighton and another to the last performance of the famous musical ‘Aladdin’. The year has been rich in enjoyable events, and we look forward to even more in Michaelmas 2019. Entz (internal) by Nameerah Khan An amazing year, with five bops and a concert. We started in Freshers’ Week with the Alphabop. In Hilary we hosted Bop Through the Ages, a history-themed bop which resulted in lots of creative, time-bending costumes and the birth of a new cocktail, Tincture of Wolfblood. We followed this up with a more relaxed event, an eclectig gig by Lithuanian folk singer Andy Vaic (St Anne’s) who chose the Wolfson Bar as the venue for his first solo performance in Oxford. Then came MmmBop, the biggest party of the year: this 90s-themed bop in the Hall and Haldane Room is always a great success. The first bop in Trinity was cartoon-themed, with lots of colourful characters dancing about, and we ended the academic year like the true nerds we all are, with a fantasy-themed bop that turned Wolfson into a world of dragons, elves and wizards. Environment Team by Angelina Palmén The Environment (‘Green’) Team has continued its work as a forum open to all members of Common Room, meeting twice a term to raise and discuss ideas for new environmental initiatives, and to devise plans of how to work with different College departments to realise them. Improving communications has been one of our key initiatives. In Michaelmas, the Green Team made its presence known at the Freshers’ Fair with environmentalthemed giveaways and collecting sign-ups for food recycling bins. We have updated the ‘Sustainability’ tab on the College website, moving it to a more logical area under ‘Accommodation’ to give those living on site REPORTS WOLFSON.OX.AC.UK 45
