REPORTS
Ryan Walker meeting the Prince of Wales at AMREF Africa launch of ‘Health in Her Hands’.
discuss Amref’s work with Prince Charles,
who is the charity’s long-time patron. Of
his meeting with the Prince, Ryan recalls:
‘I’m very grateful to Amref and Wolfson for
providing me with that opportunity. I did my
best to inform him of some of the excellent
work that Wolfson does in supporting
Amref. He was very interested in what I had
to say, and was particularly impressed that
the College’s relationship with AMREF has
been just as long as his tenure as patron.’
In April Wolfson donated £4,800 to
‘Health in Her Hands’: we sent as much
as we possibly could, knowing that the UK
Government would match all the public
funds donated to the project; this meant
that Wolfson’s £4,800 became £9,600. We
also gave £3,000 to fund the Wolfson-Amref
Bursary, which supports students taking the
charity’s flagship Diploma in Community
Health.
It has been a truly amazing year of
fundraising. To everyone who has made
these donations possible – a very warm and
appreciative thank you.
