A burn permitis required to be in compliancewith Massachusetts law. Anyonewith questions regarding openingburning should call the GeorgetownFire Department at 978-352-5757.A seasonal permit costs $10.Residents are encouraged to applyfor a 2021 burning permit at theonline portal by visiting: https://massfire.net/brush/georgetown.phpThere is a convenience fee forpaying with a credit/debit card oran electronic check online.Residents also may apply atthe Central Fire Station, 47Central St, during normal businesshours. The risk of personalinjury in these cases is very high.• Burn one small pile at a timeand slowly add to it.
