Mission Statement
It is the purpose of the Calgary APTA Festival to bring
together piano enthusiasts of all levels and in all styles of
playing to share and enjoy music. It is for this reason that
classes are non-competitive.
It is the commitment of this festival that each performer
will receive an adjudication by a leading clinician in piano
music to aid them in moving forward in their learning
experience.
It is the hope of this festival that students, teachers and
music lovers enrich their musical skills and knowledge each
time they participate.
Calgary APTA Festival 2012
Welcome performers, composers, teachers, family and friends to the 16 th
annual Calgary APTA festival. Once again we have had an overwhelming
response for a non-competitive opportunity to perform and share music with
others. It is my hope that everyone leaves with a sense of accomplishment,
encouragement and new goals to work towards.
I would like to thank the following people:
Kay Alexander for hosting at the church
Regina Thomas for arranging the adjudicators
Jory Debenham for website and on-line registration support
Susan Gaab for the artwork
Charlotte Jacobson for volunteer coordination and arranging piano donation
Rob Whitworth for being the concert Master of Ceremonies
Christina Robertson for creating the program
To all the other volunteers that have helped me prepare for the festival and
those helping during the festival.
A special thanks to St. John’s Music for the donation of pianos for our event.
As well I would like to thank the staff of Renfrew Baptist Church for their
continued support.
Sincerely,
Tara Alldred-Gundesen
Festival Coordinator
