Estonian Animation Jubilee<br />
Conference<br />
The conference is dedicated to the <strong>90</strong>th anniversary<br />
of Estonian animation and the <strong>90</strong>th birthday of <strong>Rein</strong><br />
<strong>Raamat</strong>. In 1931 premiered the first Estonian animation<br />
“Adventures of Kutsu Juku”. This event is considered<br />
the starting point of the Estonian animation tradition.<br />
The conference focuses on the heyday of animation<br />
master <strong>Rein</strong> <strong>Raamat</strong>’s work, that is the 1970s and<br />
1980s. The conference will discuss the directions<br />
and peculiarities of Estonian and Eastern European<br />
animation in the 1970s and 1980s. The contact points<br />
with art and criticism of that time and the creative<br />
heritage of <strong>Rein</strong> <strong>Raamat</strong> will be explored in detail.<br />
