The screening will be introduced by the art historian,
critic and the editor-in-chief of the magazine kunst.ee
Andreas Trossek, who compiled the program. The
program presents films made between 1973 and 1979
in the drawn animation department of Tallinnfilm, the
only cinema studio in the Estonian SSR. The studio
employed artists that were largely influenced by
Western pop art like Aili Vint, Leonhard Lapin, Sirje
Runge, Priit Pärn, Ando Keskküla and Rein Tammik.

An abstract film with a high level of generalization about a man’s
dream of flying and the realization of this dream. In 1974, The drawn
animation brought the first international recognition to a group
of young animators at Tallinnfilm. Director Rein Raamat employed
writer Paul-Eerik Rummo as the screenwriter, painter Aili Vint as the
background artist and Rein Rannap, who was the founding member
of the rock group Ruja, as the composer.
