This is the first fully drawn animation by director Roze Stiebra. The composer is Imants Kalniņš. Turtles Original title: Bruņurupuči Ansis Bērziņš 1987 Telefilma-Rīga 10 min The rhythm of the film “Turtles” reflects the tortoise’s slow vision - the days come and go, cars flow, people’s rapid actions hinder the turtle’s search for a new home. Generosity Original title: Dosnumas Zenonas Šteinys 1988 Lietuvos kino studija 10 min Animated film by Z. Šteinys based on the epic tale “Generous Apple Tree”. The relationship of a mother and child is depicted through metaphorical visual storytelling. The program is curated by Anna Zača (b. 1984) who is an animation theoretician, critic and curator. Since 2016 she is the head of the board at the Latvian Animation Association, has given lectures on animation at EKA Animation Masters, Riga Technical University and The National Film School of Latvian Culture Academy.
