scanner and E4 lab scanner

At the Midwinter Dental Meeting, 3Shape
introduced two new scanners: an entrylevel
version of their award-winning
intraoral scanner, TRIOS 3 Basic and a
brand-new lab scanner, the E4 – their
fastest and most accurate scanner ever!
Go Beyond analogue impressions
with TRIOS 3 Basic
TRIOS 3 Basic features the same core
scanning technology as in all TRIOS
models: Now making the market’s
best scanning technology available for
customers who previously may not have
had the budget to go digital. TRIOS 3 Basic
enables professionals to go beyond
conventional impression-taking with
a predictable and efficient “scan and
send-to-lab” digital workflow.
TRIOS 3 Basic comes with unique-to-TRIOS
features like, AI Scan, Real colors and
shade measurement, but does not include
TRIOS excitement apps like, TRIOS Patient
Monitoring, TRIOS Treatment Simulator
and Smile Design or restorative and
orthodontic software. TRIOS 3 Basic can
be upgraded to a TRIOS 3 model that
includes the TRIOS excitement apps.
Additional restorative and orthodontic
software are purchased separately.
Like all TRIOS models, TRIOS 3 Basic
features a lightweight scanner handle,
ultrafast insane speed scanning and
documented accuracy for indications from
implant scanning to orthodontics. TRIOS
3 Basic is available as a wired, pen-grip
model.

Studio apps, are open solutions. For

professionals interfaces to virtually all
materials as well as trusted connections to
leading third-party mills and compatibility
with all 3D printers. 3Shape believes

Digital solutions for dental and
orthodontic labs
In addition to the new 3Shape TRIOS 3,
the company also introduces its fastest
lab scanner ever, the E4. Designed for
a dental lab’s ultimate productivity,
the E4 comes with four, 5 MP cameras.
The E4 boasts double the speed and
double the accuracy of its predecessors
to improve efficiency and consistency
with every scan. From small labs seeking
the best-of-the-best, to high-volume
full-service labs
striving for a leaner
workflow, the E4 lab
scanner is the right
choice.
The E4 delivers
an accuracy of
four microns (ISO
12836), to give labs
the accuracy and precision they need
for implant cases. The E4 also scans
a full arch in eleven seconds and full
arch impressions in forty-five seconds.
Like all 3Shape’s E series scanners, the
E4 features auto-start scanning and
articulator holder support.
Unleashing a lab’s potential with
3Shape Dental System 2019
Along with the E4, 3Shape just released
a new version of its industry-leading
design software, Dental System 2019.
The updated 3Shape Dental System 2019
provides labs with significantly improved
solutions for dentures, splints and clear
aligners (optional add-on module) as well
as, predictable workflows for a complete
range of restorative indications from
veneers to implants.
Dental System 2019 also adds new
features geared especially for big labs
where it is now up to ten times faster when
starting new cases; re-opening previously
designed cases, and the import/export
of material settings. In addition, Dental
System 2019 can automatically create
design proposals for single crowns
and copings for gypsum cases. Dental
technicians can then use Dental System’s
powerful tools to inspect and correct the
automated designs during any step in the
workflow, if needed. ■
