Dental Updates New VOCO Prophylaxis Stand at the IDS The countdown to the IDS in Cologne has started. At the 38 th International Dental Show, countless visitors from all around the world will have the chance to discover new products from the dental industry. VOCO will also be present on three trade fair stands – and for the first time, this will include a special prophylaxis stand. Fluoridation, protection, care, sealing will be the focus of exhibits in Hall 5.2. VOCO also has a stand this year and will be exhibiting its complete oral care portfolio. From Clean Joy, the tooth cleaning and polishing paste, through to VOCO’s Profluorid Varnish and Perfect Bleach, the tooth whitening gel, you will find everything there. Come to the VOCO stand and talk to the prophylaxis experts and, of course, also try out the products yourself. Haven’t you always wanted to know what the mint, caramel, melon, cherry and bubble gum flavours of the fluoride-containing varnish actually taste like? VOCO has created an exciting trade fair promotion for all fans of the cuddly VOCO tooth, Molarius. Anyone who takes a selfie with the giant-sized Molarius and then uploads the photo to Instagram with the hashtag “VOCOmeetsIDS” will be in with a chance to win the main prize of a spa weekend for two in Cuxhaven, the home of VOCO. So you see, our stand C040 is well worth a visit. In addition to the new prophylaxis stand, VOCO is also exhibiting at its two familiar stands in Hall 10.2. VOCO will be presenting a real world first here. With VisCalor bulk, VOCO is launching the very first thermoviscous composite, which combines the benefits of both flowable and carvable materials. The special properties of the restorative material allow the dentist to be as flexible as possible when placing a restoration. At the same time, VOCO has expanded its range of precision impression materials. The portfolio of successful V-Posil products is now complemented with the putty material V-Posil Putty fast in large cartridge format. ■ Cantel’s Dental Division Expands Leadership Position Following Omnia Acquisition Cantel Medical Corp., announced on 1 st February that it has completed its previously announced acquisition to acquire Omnia S.p.A. (“Omnia”), an Italianbased market leader in dental surgical consumable solutions. The portfolio infection prevention solutions of Cantel’s Dental division, Crosstex International Inc. (“Crosstex”) will be further expanded to include Omnia’s wideranging portfolio of sutures, irrigation tubing and customised dental surgical procedure kits, with a focus on procedure room set-up and cross-contamination prevention. “Omnia’s comprehensive product lines of high-quality, innovative infection prevention and surgical solutions will be a strong addition to our growing dental portfolio,” said Mr. Gary Steinberg, President of Crosstex, Cantel’s Dental division. “We believe Omnia’s existing sales channels and focus on specialty dentistry will better equip us to service an additional segment of the dental market where maintaining aseptic procedures is critical.” “We are very excited to join Cantel’s Dental division,” stated Mr. Robert Cerioli, new Managing Director for Cantel’s European Dental business (formerly President of Omnia) “As a part of the Cantel organisation, we are better equipped to service the dental practices and expand the adoption of both the Omnia and Crosstex portfolios within the European markets.” ■ 8 DENTAL ASIA MARCH / APRIL 2019
