Dear Cliff Ings,

I feel I’d be an asset to the Partner Experience team at Acess4 using my skills and

experience developed in adult education (both online and IRL), leadership and

coordination, design, copywriting, and content creation. I’m also very keen as the position

aligns with my goals to further develop my abilities within the field of education.

I have a background of over 8 years in adult education, both online and in the physical

classroom, with a focus on English for Academic needs (EAP). The recent urgent shift

from physical to digital classes made me see the need education still has for adapting to

student-centred digital learning experiences that also consider the (backend) teacher’s

needs as a user regarding platforms like Moodle. This motivated me to dive further into

my interest in design and develop those skills further with a UX design course.

As a teacher, headteacher, internship coordinator and designer I have implemented

data-led decision making to create the best experiences by incorporating personalization,

various online platforms and physical mediums.

As a teacher, I found I’m a natural leader in that I enjoy supporting others to bring out

their best and will happily facilitate collaborative efforts.

As a head teacher I implemented improved processes for staff, teachers and students

such as the intake process that required the consultation of various stakeholders.

As an internship coordinator my data-led decision making, relationship building skills and

mentorship abilities were well-employed. I created new systems for sourcing feedback on

the internship experience from both our placement partners and the students to ensure

continuous improvement of the experience.

I had the privilege of working on teaching products in development at Englishtown,

Johannesburg. I was a major contributor to the WeChat Stories project, from which I

received great compliments from the participants. In the end, I was grateful for the

opportunity to present my method, motivation and perspective directly to Enio Ohmaye -

Englishtown’s Chief Technology and Experience Officer.

My BA in psychology and anthropology, as well as honours in anthropology, set me on a

path for my human-centred work. I learned the valuable skills of qualitative and

quantitative research as well as observation, ethnography, critical thinking and analysis

that I find to be useful not only in research roles but also in evaluating most decisions.
