1. ROTATING ARMCHAIR.

In the pose of a mountain, take a breath and raise your arms above

your head. Without separating the palms, bend your knees slightly,

as if sitting on a chair (photo 1A). Then, on the exhale, turn the

body to the left, lowering the right shoulder down: the right elbow

touches the outside of the left knee, and the left one is pointing up.

Turn your head towards the left elbow and look at it (photo 1B).

Inhale and straighten, raising hands up. Repeat the exercise in

other side.

2. POSE OF DANCER. (photo 2)

Stand in the pose of the mountain, stretch your right hand forward

and slightly up, turning the palm down. Bend your left knee, get

a foot behind the buttock, and hold your ankle or sock with your

free hand. Pull the tailbone down, thereby removing the load from

the spine, and strain the muscles of the hips. Slightly tilt the body

forward, pulling the left leg and right arm in opposite directions: you

should feel the strong tension of the muscles of the left leg. Hold for

3-5 breathing cycles, then return to the starting position and repeat

with the other leg.

3. lUNGE AND POSE OF DOG WITH HEAD DOWN.

From the pose of the mountain on the exhale, take a step forward

with your right foot and sink into the lunge: the right knee is exactly

above the ankle, the left one looks at the floor, the heel is raised.

Inhale and raise your hands up (photo 3A). As you exhale, lean

forward, placing your palms on the floor on either side of your right

foot. Take your right leg back and place it next to the left, straighten

your legs, then lift the pelvis so that the body resembles an inverted

Latin letter V. Pull your hips back, and chest in a direction towards

the floor, taking the pose of a dog with your head down (photo 3B).

When inhaling, raise your head and look in front of you. On the

exhale, step forward with your left foot, inhale and return to the

starting position. Repeat the exercise with the other leg.

4. POSE OF TRIANGLE. (photo 4)

From the pose of the mountain, take away straight left leg back

about 1 m and turn the sock 30 ° to the side. The right heel is in line

with the arch of the left foot. Straighten your hips, turn the body to

the left and raise your hands to the height of your shoulders, palms

facing down. On the exhale, make a side tilt to the right - so that the

body is almost parallel to the floor, do not bend your knees. The left

hand is directed vertically upwards, and the right hand rests on the

shin. Turn your head up and look at the palm of your left hand. Hold

this pose for 3-5 breathing cycles. Then, while inhaling, return the

body to a vertical position, and then repeat the turn and tilt in the

other side.

5. POSE OF WARRIOR WITH FORWARD TILT.

Starting position - as in the previous exercise. Strain your hips and

abdominal muscles. Cross your arms behind your back, enfold

palms your hands over elbows. While inhaling, stretch the spine,

straighten your shoulders and chest (photo 5A). On the exhale, tilt

the body forward, bringing the rib cage closer to the front surface of

the right thigh; if necessary, slightly bend the right leg (photo 5B).

On exhale, straining your legs to maintain balance, return to the

pose of the mountain and repeat the exercise with the other leg.

6. THE INCLINE BY SITTING. (photo 6)

Sit on the floor with your legs crossed. Lower straight arms on

both sides of the body, touching the floor with your fingertips, while

the middle fingers should be on the shoulder line. When inhaling,

raise your left hand up. On the exhale, slide your right palm in a

sliding motion on the floor away from you, while at the same time

reaching out with your body and your left hand. Hold, then return

to the starting position and repeat the tilt in the opposite direction.

7. MOBILE “BRIDGE”. (photo 7)

Lie on your back, bending your knees and holding them over your

ankles, legs shoulder-width apart, feet are resting on the floor with

the whole plane. Stretch your arms along the body with your palms

down. When inhaling, lift them and place your behind your head,

with your palms up, then lift the pelvis so that the body from the

shoulder blades to the knees forms a straight line. Hold this position,

then on the exhale return to the starting position and repeat 6-8

times.


8. TWISTING OF THE SPINE. (photo 8)

Lie on your back with your legs straight. Bend your left knee, pull up

to your chest and put your right hand on it. Stretch your left hand to

the side at shoulder level, unwraping your palm to the floor. As you

exhale, move your left knee through your right leg and lower it to

the floor. At the same time, turn your head in the opposite direction

and look at the extended left arm. Make sure your shoulders do not

come off the floor. Hold, then inhale, return the body to its original

position and as you exhale, straighten your left leg. Perform a turn

with the other leg.

& Martin Volkmar are proud to announce that our MM

Milano 3-Day-Event around Dubai World Fashion Week

from 18-20 December 2020 has been a great success

for our Brand and all our global talents coming together

to form a conscious community in fashion, sustainability

and social responsibility. We thank everyone who

helped raising money for Buklod Kalinga orphanage

in the Philippines in partnership with Filipino football

player Simone Rota, and are honored having received

the “Designer of the Year” award.


On 18 December 2020, during Dubai

World Fashion Week in cooperation with

Vivz Fashion School from India, our talents

showcased MM Milano’s new sustainable

High-Fashion collection for Kids, Teens &

Adults, called “MM Celestial”, designed by

Chona Bacaoco in Milan, Italy. This show

brought together our global talents - from

the US & UK to Switzerland, from Romania

to the Philippines - and revealed, for the

first time, our new dresses made of natural

Hablon & Pineapple Silk fabrics produced

by our local Philippine partners as well as

recycled materials that were given a second

life. The audience cheered at unique designs

inspired by Philippine heritage and flowers

like the exotic native flower Waling-Waling

influencing the “The Waling-Waling-Dress”.

Our colorful dresses were accompanied

by our very own runway music composed

by music artist Andréas Volkmar who was

honored to receive the award for “Best

Runway Music” for his song “Sleepless

People” by

H.E. Sheikha Dr Hind Al Qassimi, H.E. Sheik

Sultan Al-Qasimi and H.E. Sheikh Dr. Saeed

Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan.

Further awards for their extraordinary efforts

were given to our MM Talents Schirin Alexa

Thoma-Jugl for

“Achiever Model of the Year”, Kayla Nicole

Solis for “Charitable Model of the Year” and

Natalia Angelina Spanhel for “Promising

Model of the Year” alongside other famous


awardees. Our young singer from Romania

Maria Cristina Flăcău a.k.a. “Maya Rose”

thrilled the crowd by performing her

new single “Someone” supported by the

Philippine dance group PiNoy DXB Crew,

and was awarded “Model & Artist of the

Year”.

On 20 December 2020 our 3-day activities

concluded with a Get Together (“ESG Meet

& Greet”) with all our MM Milano Talents

and their families at a lovely place outside

of Dubai where we set the foundation for

creating a conscious MM Milano community.

We are proud to already have formed a

community of fascinating personalities,

among them our model of determination

from the US, Olivia DePiore, who’s journey

for sure is a very inspirational one. That is

why she was awarded “Achiever & Inspiring

Model of the Year” after she had rocked

Dubai’s runway. Olivia is a cancer survivor,

a Down-Syndrome editorial, commercial

and runway model, she is a beauty-queen,

an actress and stage performer. Olivia will

continue to travel with us and enrich our

community by being a model and great

inspiration.

We will carry on to pursuing our mission and

vision embodied in the MM Milano Brand

culture.“We are bringing together Global

Talents and Sustainable Fabrics” and

Sustainable Fabrics”.


Apart from the fashion show, on 19 December 2020, the MM

Milano Team together with its global talents had the unique

opportunity of carrying out a professional photoshoot and

fashion walk in the beautiful desert of Dubai together with

the incredible Production Team around Mau Piodena IV.





Barbizon USA

History

The first Barbizon School of Modeling and Acting

was opened in 1939 on Fifth Avenue in New

York City, New York, by Helen Fraser, a fashion

model and teacher with her husband, Dr. Fraser,

a dentist. The Barbizon name was developed

from the Fraser's vacations to France where they

became interested in the town of Barbizon, a

village outside of Paris known for the 19th-century

Barbizon school of painters. She wrote a book

Assignment in Modeling: A Guide to a Career in

Fashion and Photographic Modeling".

In 1950, Helen met Ronald Reagan, who would

later become President of the United States,

and awarded him with the Best-Dressed Man in

America award she established. In 1951, Helen

acted as a celebrity judge for the Miss Brooklyn

Pageant, alongside actress Denise Darcel and

comedian Steve Allen.

Barbizon Curriculum

The Barbizon curriculum prepares students for

modeling and acting careers with courses focused

in self-confidence, poise, style and industry

education and techniques.




Modeling

Barbizon’s modeling curriculum follows the

techniques used by professional models. Classes

center around voice projection, self-confidence,

print and runway modeling. The curriculum varies

dependent upon the class category. Barbizon

offers classes for female modeling, male modeling,

pre-teen (kids) modeling, full-figure modeling,

and advanced professional modeling.

Acting

Barbizon’s acting curriculum focuses on film and

television acting through classes that educate

students in areas of comedy, monologues, drama,

how to go on an audition and script reading. Stage

presence and personality are also incorporated

heavily into the curriculum.

College scholarship

In 1992, Barbizon began a college scholarship

program, paying up to $100,000 of tuition[8] for the

scholarship recipients to any college or university

in the United States.

Barbizon Modeling and Acting Centers are located

in more than 200 markets across the United States.

International locations include Bangkok, Toronto,

Santo Domingo and Japan.




DANIELLE VEENSTRA

Danielle is a Barbizon grad

from Ocala, FL. She started

her modeling career after

graduating Barbizon at 14 years

old. With a career that took

off quickly, Danielle has spent

much of her time modeling in

the Asia markets and Miami.

Danielle has appeared on the

cover of Avenue L Magazine

and Elle Girl Magazine, and in

an Aldo Shoe campaign, all

before the age of 16.

Kayla Nicole Solis was born in Mcallen,

Texas on August 6, 2002 and is the eldest

of three children. Kayla is currently 18

years old and after graduating highschool

she moved to live in San Antonio, Texas

where she is a freshman at the University

of Texas at San Antonio. During her

highschool years she participated in

both varsity cheer and wrestling, cooking

club, debate team, and student council.

Outside of school she also took part in

modeling, pageantry, and competitive

cheer, and devoted her time to helping her

surrounding communities. Throughout

her highschool years Kayla was bullied

but she learned to overcome that and to

love herself.


Kayla started modeling a year ago and

has already participated in New York

Fashion Week, a Fashion show in Florida,

and various shows in Mcallen, Texas

where she has modeled for brands such

as Forever 21, Michael Kors, and Davids

Bridal to name a few and will be in Dubai

for Fashion week. Now Kayla holds the

title of Teen Texas Belleza Latina and will

compete for Internationals in Chicago in

2021. She has also founded her own nonprofit

which is Kayla’s Helping Hands and

not only does it help the less fortunate in

her surrounding communities but it also

works with kids with disabilities.
