Portraits
When taking photographic portraits of students,
employees and stakeholders, subjects must be
dressed professionally and/or in the uniform of their
appropriate field of study. Strictly, no casual dress.
Subjects can look candid and relaxed if the creative
direction dictates, but in general they must not look
overly posed. They should display positive, warm facial
expressions.
Lighting should always look natural, even if it is
artificially sourced.
Locations should look clean, presentable and natural,
and they should be a true reflection of the subject’s
learning environment or workspace. They should not
be overly staged or unrealistic, and they should not be
visually cluttered or complex, as this will distract the
viewer.
Backgrounds for studio portraits should be a solid
neutral color, preferably white.
STUDIO PORTRAITS
Lighting should always look natural, even when it is sourced
artificially in a studio environment.
